Hi Everyone - I just wanted to let you know that we will be closed July 4th - 6th for the 4th of July weekend so our employees can spend time with their families. We will be open this week Monday - Thursday from 6am - 7pm MST at 877-748-2709 and on chat at www.yourhcg.com/contact from 6am - 2pm MST.
On that note, what big plans do you have for the holiday weekend? What HCG friendly foods are you cooking up?
Just because you are on the HCG diet doesn't mean you have to miss out on all the yummy food! There are lots of recipes out there that can make the diet fun and exciting. You can find some new ones here - http://www.yourhcg.com/members/recipes/. Here is a great meal suggestion. With this meal it will include your protein, vegetable, fruit, and lemon serving. You can also still have your Melba toast or Grissini breadstick.
Try BBQing chicken with this BBQ rub:
2 TBSP paprika
1 TBSP ground cumin
1 TBSP black pepper
1 TBSP chili powder
Mix; store in air-tight container/ziplock bag. This amount makes enough for many uses.
SAUTEED GARLIC & GREENS
6 cloves garlic, sliced
16 c. stemmed and rougly chopped chard
squeeze of lemon
red pepper flakes to taste
1/2 tsp kosher salt
Heat garlic in large skillet over med-low heat in a non-stick pan until garlic begins to turn golden, about 3 minutes. Transfer to a small bowl and set aside.
Place greens, red pepper flakes and salt into skillet. Using tongs, turn greens until wilted enough to fit in pan. Raise heat to medium and over. Cook 7-10 mins, tossing frequently.
Transfer greens to colander to drain. Return greens to pan and toss with reserved garlic.
Squeeze with lemon just before serving.
Refrigerate leftover greens in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
STRAWBERRY SORBET
This is my absolute favorite recipe! My whole family loves it!
10 medium strawberries
Juice of 1 lemon
Stevia (as needed)
Water (if needed)
Freeze fresh strawberries about 1 hour. Blend fresh frozen strawberries, lemon juice & sugar substitute in blender until very well blended. You can serve immediately or place in freezer to allow it to firm up even further.
TIP: If you don’t want to wait, you can always use your fresh strawberries without freezing them and simply add ice and any water needed.
