    Fear of leaving P3!

    Hi Linda. It's now Week 9 and I'm .75 below LDW. In 9 weeks I've had 2 steak days, both not related to carbs/sugar or overeating but, the best i can determine, water retention from sodium.

    I've not introduced any brown rice, sweet potatoes, oatmeal, etc for fear of gaining weight. On an app I track every morsal that goes in my mouth and get a breakdown of all my nutrients. It seems like 1400 calories is my limit for maintaining my weight. I eat high in healthy fats and protein and low carbs. I know HCG does not support this tracking but I was too fearful to just try eating different things and thought i could come up with a "formula" tailored to my body.

    Do some people never reintroduce complex carbs and sugar and just live on a very restricted, but healthy, eating plan?

    Yes, there are many that live quite comfortably without adding sugars and complex carbs. I have found I feel HORRIBLE when I eat them. So I avoid them. I find I don't need them to feel comfortable and satisfied with my menu.

    Hmmm. I've got to think about that...maybe I'm not really missing anything. The dinner I made tonight had no sugar/complex carbs and my husband said it was better than anything you eat in a fancy restaurant. It did have olives, almonds, Parmesan cheese - not too boring!!!

    I am another one who lives without sugars in any form or starches. It isn't hard for me. I am not feeling deprived in any form or fashion. I am so much more content without them. When I eat them, something turns on in my brain that I don't like. So I don't eat them.

    Some people can eat a little and be fine. Not with me.

    When I eat sugar I feel immediately sick to my stomach. My heart starts racing and I start perspiring. It is simply horrible.

    Interesting Linda.

    Since I made the decision to go without sugar in all its forms, I became aware of how the majority of foods that are not raw have some sort of sugar added to them. One has to learn to recognize the many, many names for sugar. One surprising one was chicken broth. OOps! I don't mean that "chicken broth" is a name for sugar.

    I was surprised that some versions of chicken broth one can purchase in a store has some form of sugar added. Most often the "natural" ones or the "organic" ones.

    That is why I always use my own. Every time I make a roasted chicken I will boil down the bones, strain, skim all the fat and freeze in varying size amounts. I plan to re-use containers from Mexican fast food restaurants which contained their salsa and freeze them for just a small amount of chicken broth for use during protocol.

    Yes, I usually am making chicken stock -- often in a month. I had to purchase some on the fly for my mom's apartment and that got me to looking.
