    Home Made Ranch Dressing

    Ranch Dressing

    1 cup mayonnaise
    1/2 cup sour cream
    1/2 teaspoon dried chives
    1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
    1/2 teaspoon dried dill weed
    1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
    1/4 teaspoon onion powder
    1/8 teaspoon salt
    1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper

    Directions
In a large bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sour cream, chives, parsley, dill, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes before serving.

Alternative recipe. This is a bit thinner recipe but I really like it.

1 cup full fat greek yogurt
    1/4 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup whole milk or half and half.
    1/2 teaspoon dried chives
    1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
    1/2 teaspoon dried dill weed
    1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
    1/4 teaspoon onion powder
    1/8 teaspoon salt
    1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper

Does it matter what mayonnaise is used?? I use Hellmann's Canola Cholesterol Free Mayonnaise...

And can Greek Yogurt be substituted for the sour cream?

Hellmann's regular mayo is fine. Don't use anything but regular mayo not fat free or cholesterol free. Yogurt is a perfect substitute.

So a no go on my mayo... Bummer... Major bummer... I LOVE that mayo, and is all I have used for the last 12 years, because I don't care for the others... I guess I hunt for a new mayo... LOL!!

You will be able to use it eventually. It is just any fat free or sugar free products actually counteract the hypothalamus reset. The body needs full fat foods from here out.

Yep, I looked at the ingredients, and low and behold, there is sugar... Good grief... Do they intentionally hide that stuff everywhere?!? LOL!!

Ok, at the store yesterday, looking for a Mayo, even the regular Hellmans had sugar, as did all the other ones I tried... I wound up finding an organic one that didn't have sugar listed as an ingredient... It was basically the ingredients listed on the home made mayo recipe in here...

That will work. However, I have found that regular full fat Best Foods or Hellman's mayo works fine on maintenance even though it has sugar. However, the organic brand will work as well.
