French Onion Soup

Has anyone tried to make french onion soup using chicken broth?

If you do make sure that the chicken broth is homemade.

Do I just boil my chicken in water to make the homemade chicken broth? Do you add any spices to the broth when you make it?

Salt, pepper and powdered garlic.

I use salt, pepper, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and a bay leaf to make the broth. I also use celery leaves and celery to flavor the broth, but if you want to used onion instead...you just cannot use both, either onion or celery for flavor.

I love french onion soup ... vlcd recipe of course, but my first round any time I had it I would stall. So I am VERY sad to say I wont be having it this round =-(

But hey just 'cause it stalls me doesn't mean it will stall others... learning to listen to your body =-)
