  1. I was SO proud of myself on the way home Jess' party Saturday for resisting ALL of the Cinco de Mayo temptations but when I got on the scale the next morning, I had only lost 1.6lb! I know that is nuts to complain about in the scheme of things, but for me -- I'm in my first week, the week where everyone on this site has lost the most weight, dropping 2-3lbs DAILY! This morning I got on the scale and only had a 1.2lb loss! I'm frustrated because it is SO hard to not eat at Granny's on Sunday with everyone, skimp at the graduation party & margaritas with everyone...not even get a shaved ice at the zoo when it's SO hot and the scale moves so SLOW! I think that is why it's so hard to get over the fact that my losses aren't as dramatic as others. If only your losses reflected the strength of denying your temptations! For me, only being a few days into the diet & having the weekend I did, I should be -20lbs! Sigh! OK Monday let's do this...

  2. Yesterday was Hell. I did really good until lunch time. Then, my little chicken and romaine lettuce salad was awful because I squeezed lemon onto it for a "dressing." WORST IDEA EVER!!! Then, I just wanted a little something sweet -- ALL DAY LONG!!!! And then, at home, I started making dinner and I just wanted to add a little marinade on it or another veggie to it -- shoot, or even just be allowed to eat TWO of the grissinni breadsticks! Normally, when I diet, I don't get all crazy like this until further into it... I guess because this one is so strict, I'm freaking out early? UGH! Please pray for me...

  3. By the way, I felt like I ate more last night than the night before and I didn't gain much weight this morning -- that has me worried. I even chugged (had to!) a pint of heavy cream per Linda's advice on drinking your fat as opposed to eating it. That was GROSS!!!

I'm not sure if the HCG is the reason I'm not sleeping 8 hours straight but the past two nights (loading days) I have woken up in the middle of the night and had a very hard time getting back to sleep. I'm hoping it's because I ate so much and went to bed feeling gross! Who knows... I will say that I wake back up before my alarm at 5:20AM and feel alert and ready to get up and get started on my day. So that's a plus. Today is my first day of the VLCD -- here's to hoping for the best and no hunger pains!!! :-\

  5. Loading is no joke!! I'm actually looking forward to the VLCD now! I'm so sick of feeling grossly full! And looking pregnant! :-( Luckily, tomorrow is Day 1 of VLCD and I can get started with seeing the scale move to a smaller number by Friday! I'm so excited about this that I don't even care that I'm missing out on tacos and margaritas at my best friend's graduation party Saturday night! :-) I'll be there with bells on and my belly full BEFORE I get there!! READY to get this show on the ROAD!! :-)

  6. It feels so strange to allow myself to eat all of these foods that have been "off-limits" for so many years! Well, "allow myself to eat" seems too nice. Binge on them, is more accurate. It's still early in the morning on Day 1 and I'm already getting the gassiness I've read others write about. Maybe I was wrong to try to do this at work? But if I wait until the weekends, I'll never do it -- too many things going on to be able to binge on a weekend -- graduations, weddings, lake house trip, etc. I'd rather be too strict on those weekends than binge and feel fat! LOL! So I'm starting at work with a very loose dress on and my calendar freed up! Here goes Day 1 of stuffing myself with things I hope I never crave again! Good luck to anyone else out there who is starting their journey, as well!
