Linda’s HCG Journal

July 19, 2009 Day 1 Load Day #1
I thought eating everything fatty I could get my hands on would be some how like living out a wonderful fantasy diet. You know “let’s lose weight by eating everything bad for you in sight”. WRONG! I don’t know if it is psychological but with the first dose this a.m. my appetite left me. I don’t want to eat. So there has been little joy in eating all the stuff I usually deny myself. I feel like puking and (I can’t believe I am saying this) I absolutely HATE fat and sugar.

July 20, 2009 Day 2 Load Day #2 gained 1.9 lbs.
I don’t want to eat anymore. I hate eating and can’t stomach anything with fat in it. I am full all of the time and I simply can’t wait for tomorrow when I start my 500 calorie diet. At least I won’t have to
Eat ALL THE TIME like the last two days. There really isn't much fun in being full all the time.

Yesterday I thought that it was psychological but I found that HCG really takes your appetite away. I am
going to be very interested to see how the coming days go in terms of how I respond to so little calories. I have never attempted so low a calorie intake and if the HCG doesn’t do what it promised in terms of sufficient energy, I can kiss my working out goodbye.

July 21, 2009 Day 3 VLCD Day #1 gained 0.7 lbs.
VLCD refers to a Very Low Calorie Diet in Dr. Simeon’s book. As I plan to share this journal with other people who are interested I wanted to use the terms in his protocol so my reader can become familiar with the terms. Dr. Simeon said not to worry about the weight gained on the loading days as it will come off very quickly. We will see in the morning.

July 22, 2009 Day 4 lost 3.5 lbs.
I have been on the HCG for 3 solid days and have NEVER felt hungry. I expected to once I started the
VLCD portion. Nope! I am still not hungry. It is weird to eat food with no dressings or little seasonings.
The food, especially the veggies aren't my favorite to eat. It is such a strange experience to not feel like eating at all. There is a psychological part of wanting to eat but the physical part of doing it isn’t enjoyable. Weird! All my life I have liked the “taste” of food. Food was an emotional and often social event. I can see I will need to learn to socially side step food for the next 45 days. I is easy to watch others eat when you are not hungry. Thank you Dr. Simeon!

July 23, 2009 Day 5 lost 2.3 lbs.
Well, that was easy! I lost another 2.3 pounds. I have mild – I mean MILD headache. I am allowed to take aspirin but it is so mild a headache I would prefer to not take it. I was still mentally prompted with late night snacking. That will pass once a new pattern is established during the evening hours. I’m encouraged.

July 24, 2009 Day 6 lost 1 lbs.
My weight loss for today was 1 LB and I suspect it will drop from here to the average of other patients. They say that .08 is the average amount lost per day for the average patient. I am still not hungry. This is my first day at a gig so let’s see how it goes.

July 25, 2009 Day 7 lost .08 lbs.
I had my first gig last night. The only problem I am having on this protocol is I don’t have a ton of energy right now. I am not weak per se, I just don’t feel as strong as I normally do. Other than that I am doing great.

July 26, 2009 Day 8 lost 1.1 lbs.
I went to a BBQ today. I didn't eat anything they served just what I brought. I do miss the social aspect of food. That is all. I am feeling not hungry just empty late in the day. I read that as normal in the protocol.

July 27, 2009 Day 9 lost 0.5 lbs.
I didn’t eat soon enough in the day. I ate lunch at 5 o’clock. That threw me way off schedule that is the reason for the Ĺ lb. loss. I will be more conscious of it in the future.

July 28, 2009 Day 10 lost .09 lbs.
I am back to normal. One pound loss this am. I am settling into a pattern. The mild headache I barely had went away. They spoke about allowing aspirin for it but it never got that bad. I still get a little tired when working out.

July 29, 2009 Day 11 lost 1.1 lbs.
I am eating earlier more regularly. Going smooth as sailing. I didn’t work out.

July 30, 2009 Day 12 lost 0.5 lbs.
Stayed strict on my schedule of eating. I made sure that I allowed a full 15 minutes before drinking or eating anything. I have been getting lax on that.

July 31, 2009 Day 13 lost 1.4 lbs.
Yesterday was my first gig until 1:30am. When I was done working I wasn’t so much hungry as just simply empty. I am going to have to adjust my food and dosing tomorrow to allow me to last until 3 or 4 am.

August 1, 2009 Day 14 lost .06 lbs.
I was right, dosing spacing has to be better managed. When working until 3am or 4am I have to save a snack until at least 10 o’clock so I have food too. We will see how tomorrow goes.

August 2, 2009 Day 15 lost 1.0 lbs.
I spread out the doses last night. I even ate my fruit at midnight and last dose at the end of the night. I worked because I lost a full pound. I am getting used to not drinking alcohol at gigs and eating after gigging like I used to. Gigs should be smoother from now on.

August 3, 2009 Day 16 lost .04 lbs.
I waited too long to dose. I thought that I should dose later but it didn’t work. I will go back to last dose at 10pm when gigging until 4am.

August 4, 2009 Day 17 lost 1.5 lbs.
Yesterday. I stuck to interval dosing and eating. I was like clockwork. The proof is on the scale this am

August 5, 2009 Day 18 lost 0.0 lbs.
I don’t understand. I committed no dietary errors. I re-read the section of Dr. Simeon’s protocol and he said that sometime your body just needs to catch up. I have lost consistently for two full weeks. Hopefully I am right and what Dr. Simeon described as water weight due to the breakdown of the fat cell infrastructure is causing the stall. I am not bummed right now but I will be diligent and to the letter on this today. Could I have taken too many doses. I am going to start keeping track of the doses on the dry eraser board in the kitchen just in case.

August 6, 2009 Day 19 gained .04 lbs.
WHAT HAPPENED! I have to find the error. After much research I realized that I accidentally mixed Barry’s Top Sirloin with my London Broil. Now that I have mixed up the two I will need to go to the store to buy new London Broil so I can be sure of what I am eating. Boy! My system is SO SENSITIVE to every calorie. I HAVE TO BE CAREFUL.

August 7, 2009 Day 20 lost 0.7 lbs.
That’s better. I stuck with chicken yesterday. I didn’t make up the deficit and feel I am getting behind in my goal. I think I need to get this perfection idea out of my head. Life isn’t perfect it is messy and if I think I am going to be able to loss perfectly every day I have another thing coming.

August 8, 2009 Day 21 gained 0.5 lbs.
I did nothing wrong. My only thought is one of the people I shook hand with at my show had
Shiny hands which meant she could have just put on hand lotion which is prohibited on the protocol.

August 9, 2009 Day 22 lost 1.0 lbs.
I hiked with Dennis and Barry. I was strict on the intervals of dosing and diet.

August 10, 2009 Day 23 lost 1.1 lbs.
Yes, now we are talking.

August 11, 2009 Day 24 gained 0.3 lbs.
I can’t find the problem. I haven’t touched anything. The protocol says to cut back on the tomatoes if you are eating them regularly. I have been. Let’s try that. Unless one of the people I shook hands with had lotion on them. My diet has been stellar. I have no explanation and am starting to get frustrated and scare. Why is this happening to me. Maybe this is another plateau like last week. I need to press through and hopefully I will start losing again. I need to see Lisa Fedele today and want to loss tomorrow but what if the hair product puts on the weight. YIKES!!!

August 12, 2009 Day 25 lost 0.1 lbs.
Now I am just pissed. I did nothing wrong. Now I am going to cut out the melba toast.

August 13, 2009 Day 26 lost 0.8 lbs.
I ate early and finally lost some weight. I get it in my mind that my body should work like clockwork and loss a pound a day EVERYDAY. I am beginning to realize that is unrealistic.

August 14, 2009 Day 27 lost 1.7 lbs.
I am starting to relax and just let happen what is going to happen. I can’t be a perfectionist about this. There are complicated biological things going on in my body. It would take a physician to explain what is changing in me. I am in uncharted territory for a layman. RELAX Linda. Everything will be fine.

August 15, 2009 Day 28 lost 0.1 lbs.
At least I lost. I am not going to worry about it.

August 16, 2009 Day 29 lost 0.7 lbs.
I am happy with this. I am not exercising this week. I am doing studio work on a new CD.

August 17, 2009 Day 30 lost 0.6 lbs.
At least I am consistently losing now. Please Lord, let that continue

August 18, 2009 Day 31 lost 1.0 lbs.
YEAH! I have lost 6 days in a row. Still not hungry. Haven’t been since day 1. I do still battle the mental part. It is tough to have Dennis over and to BBQ for Barry and him and not be part of it. It is weird but I feel like I am missing out on something. What keeps you on the straight and narrow is knowing ANY deviance from the precise food is guaranteed weight gain. I only have so many days to lose as much as I can. Please let me be smart Lord and stay on the straight and narrow.

August 19, 2009 Day 32 lost 0.2 lbs.
I had a few good days. BUT I added one more fruit back in and thing that that made the difference. Out it goes until I have regular loss.

August 20, 2009 Day 33 lost 1.0 lbs.
I have cut out both fruit and all melba toast. I am not using Tomatoes as one of my veggies.

August 21, 2009 Day 34 lost 0.7 lbs.
I have gigs today.

August 22, 2009 Day 35 lost 1.7 lbs.
Yahoo!!! I am hopeful.

August 23, 2009 Day 36 lost 1.5 lbs.
Yes, I am starting to lose again.

August 24, 2009 Day 37 lost 0.0 lbs.
I ate dinner late. IT KILLED MY WEIGHT LOSS.

August 25, 2009 Day 38 gained 0.4 lbs.
I added fruit back in. Obviously that wasn’t a good idea

August 26, 2009 Day 39 gained 1.6 lbs.
Just when I think I am back on course I do something totally stupid. I was BBQing for Barry and Dennis I was wrapping potatoes for the fire. I realized I forgot to use the latex gloves for the potatoes and my hands were covered with butter. Here’s your sign and your 1Ĺ pound gain. IDIOT!!!!!

August 27, 2009 Day 40 lost 0.5 lbs.
Okay. I’ll take that.

August 28, 2009 Day 41 lost 1.9 lbs.
Looking better

August 29, 2009 Day 42 lost 2.0 lbs.
Wow. That is the biggest loss since the beginning of the protocol

August 30, 2009 Day 43 lost 0.6 lbs.
Keep going

August 31, 2009 Day 44 lost 0.2 lbs.
Last Almost there. Last dosing day I will need to maintain the 500 calories for the next three days

Sept 1, 2009 Day 45 lost 0.6 lbs.
Still losing

Sept 2, 2009 Day 46 lost 0.5 lbs.
Still losing and STILL not hungry

Sept 3, 2009 Day 47 lost 1.0 lbs.
Tomorrow it is on to any food except sugar and starches for 3 weeks then slowly adding sugar and starch back in to my diet.

October 2, 2009 1 month post HCG

The Cardinal Rule for the rest of my life is – “so long as you weight within EXACTLY 2 pounds (no ounces over) of the amount you weighted on your last Dose you are to eat normally”. As of today, I am still within 2 pounds of the amount I weighed on the last dosing date. I adjust my eating only when I approach that two-pound mark. It has been easy to maintain this weight. I really believe this is a cure because I have NEVER been able to keep weight off for 1 month. I have ALWAYS put on at least 2 lbs. within the month of stopping any diet. This works.

Greetings to everyone.
I started HCG in Jan 2010. After 3 rounds I have successfully lost 35lbs and kept them off. It was a real struggle at times since I had major health issues. I was diagnosed with Lyme disease in Nov of 2010 and thanks to HCG and the diet protocol I have been able to stay at my low dose weight. The interesting thing about Phase 3 of the diet is it is really close to the Dr recommended diet for Lyme disease. I feel better when I stay on Phase 3 so carbs and sugars are not my friends.

The best part of HCG is not my story, it is my brother in law. He is 56 and developmentally disabled. In April he joined me on the HCG diet. His beginning weight was 360lbs. Today he weighed in at 248. I could just cry he is doing so well. He is on his third round and has been determined to stay with the program. He has gone from a size 60 jacket to size 50. I think by summer he will be at or under 200lbs for the first time since he graduated fronm high school. HCG is the most wonderful program for both of us.
Thank you for sharing the journey with us.

Hello Linda! I have a few questions, if you don't mind. I was wondering what your total weight loss was. Also, since you did 45 doses, did you skip one day per week to prevent becoming immune to the HCG? And lastly...it's been a little over 2 years since you finished, are you still within 2 lbs? Thanks for any answers. I am on load day 2 and start the VLCD tomorrow. Happy to be here!

Thanks for any answers. I am on load day 2 and start the VLCD tomorrow. Happy to be here! My total weight loss was 35.3 for my first round. There is no need to skip doses with hCG only with sublingual hCG only with the injections. I did fine up until a few months ago when my body began going through the change and I started to add weight. I am currently on a round of hCG to fix that.

Thank you for the reply. Just to be clear...there is no need to skip doses when taking the HCG drops that I get from YourHCG.com? BTW, 35.3 pounds is fantastic! Congratulations! I just started the VLCD today and am looking forward to seeing the number on my scale begin to go down. :-)

Linda, thank you so much for posting this. I have felt so frustrated sometimes due to lack of or low weight loss. I went into this with extremely high expectations. The days that I didn't lose but .2, or .4 I would get so upset. I am currently now stalled with only 1.2 lbs to my goal weight. I will get there. I have no doubts at this stage. Thank you so much.

I am really glad you posted your journal - I am currently waiting on my drops from Yourhcg to come in and I am so very excited - and nervous. I have already lost from my high of 248 pounds (doing many different diets) and I am right now at around 175 pounds and really want to get to at least 140 something. I have been reading everything I can find on HCG Diet.

Sadie

You are to be commended for doing your homework prior to starting!! This will guarantee you do VERY WELL once you start. On the day you start your protocol if you eat the high fat foods I outlines in the "Loading on HCG" section you will do very well through the first 10 days which are the toughest. Please feel free to ask any questions you might have. I am here as often as I can be and we have MANY people who post here which are VERY experienced who can and will chime in to help you out. All the best for a wonderful journey to health.

Wait, so do you have to maintain the LDW after the six weeks? for the rest of your life? you can't lost anymore by exercise and calorie counting?

Just need clarification. Thanks!

Sadie
03-21-2012, 11:37 AM
You are to maintain within 2.1 pounds for life. That is not a hardship once you have stabilized your weight at your new LDW. That is the reason for not cheating during the phases. Cheating damages the reset of the set weight point. Most people find they rarely have to correct their weight once they complete Phase 4.

I guess what I am saying is that I have more weight to lose, and planned on completing maintenance, then counting calories and exercise to lose the last 20 or so lbs I need to lose. Is that possible?

Sadie

Yes, however just be aware that any weight you lose without the benefit of HCG will result in the loss of normal not abnormal fat and therefore any weight lost will be regained when you increase calories.

I guess I'm going to post up a success story here, so here goes:

Girlfriend and I decided after last Memorial Day that it was time to do something about our weight's due to having so many problems getting around the city of Chicago when we were on vacation. So, upon returned, we took advantage of one of the "buy one, get one of the same size" free offers running on this website. We waiting a little bit and started loading on June 8th, 2011 at a starting weight of 310.6 pounds. Over the next 31 days, I lost 38.8 pounds and locked in a LDW of 271.8. Upon going on our first maintenance, I started off very, very slowly. However, since I live in the Midwest and it was summer time, I had to do a lot of work outdoors. By the time I the maintenance phases, I had dropped another 14 pounds (down to 257.8).

I had a work conference that sent me to Las Vegas in late August, which I figured was going to be the first real "test" of this new lifestyle change. With so many options available to you, it's way to easy to go overboard and resort to those bad habits that got you in trouble in the first place. I was pleased that even with some boundaries exceeded, I came back only +1.0 pound. Upon returning, my girlfriend wanted to jump into round 2. So, we used Labor Day Weekend as another "last hurrah" and on that Monday of Labor Day, we locked in starting weights. I locked in 260.8 after all the loading. We decided to try to push a 45 day round this time around. I was in the midst of a weight loss challenge at work and wanted to help my team at least compete for the 5 free vacation days they were offering.

41 days later (and roughly 4 days after the weight loss challenge final weigh-ins), I was down to 217.6 pounds. Combine a few more pounds lost in weaning, I entered Round 2, Phase 3 having lost a total of 95 pounds at that point. Now, maintenance wasn't as great this time around, but I still ended up finishing Phase 4 at 6 pounds below LDW. This put me at flirting with the 100 pounds lost mark.

Since I ended Round 2 in late November, I've gone through some major American food/drink holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, Super Bowl Sunday, Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day) and I'm happy to report that I've kept with the lifestyle changes and have continued to make positive choices in the foods I consume on a daily basis. When I "clocked out" on the HCG program, I was at around 211-212 pounds. In the last 4 weeks, I've made a conscious effort to watch my food intake and document it more and add more activity to my plans per day. As of this morning (4/15/12), the scale informed me today that I weighted 200.6 pounds. This puts me at 110.0 pounds lost since that first day in June 2011.

I'm making my way to my high end BMI non-overweight number in 184, but to be honest, I'll be extremely happy to be at 190. While I'm not using HCG for the final part of this weight loss journey, I feel it had a major impact in getting the ship righted, in terms of my lifestyle, that needed to be righted. Needless to say, even though my last LDW was around 217 pounds, I have a feeling I'm going to always considering 200 to be my worst case LDW as life goes on.

Wishing everyone luck on this. My biggest keys to everyone is not sweating the day to day bumps in the road (keep eyeing it as a big picture) and try to stay as positive as you can with it. It's rough changing, but the end results are so going to be worth it in the end.

Jon Hildebrand

As an addition to this story...I've finally be able to drop below 200 pounds. The psychological relief when a "1" was the first number on the scale is huge.

198.4 and counting. Final goal should probably be around 180 or so, but there's going to be some toning involved at some point, so I'm not so much worried about being a proper BMI but getting better in shape and looking the part. My numbers put me at 112.6 pounds lost since I started loading on June 8th, 2011. Roughly 80-85 lost in two HCG rounds, with the rest coming off in life phases and maintenance phases. I feel really confident that I've changed my lifestyle for the better now.

Amazing Jon!! I am so very happy for both you and Heather. And to have maintained during the holidays is definitely a testimony to your detrmination and perserverence. It has definitely been an awesome journey and thanks to HCG, we all rock!! I completed my journey after one last round in January with a total 86 pounds lost. Started January 2011 at 228 and ended February 2012 at 142.4. I am also working on the toning this year and trying to be as diligent on that end as I was losing the weight last year. Keep up the great work and it is so nice to hear from you and know you are doing well :)

Coming up on nearly the one year anniversary of starting all of this, the numbers just seem mind boggling. I'm near 196.0 right now (with a low of 195.0) and I'm continuing a downward trend, although it's a little slow. Can say I've been doing good and keeping things decent. I got on the scale on that first day of loading at 310.6 pounds. That's a loss over the year at nearly 116 pounds (115.6). I only did two rounds (as stated above), but I learned a heavy amount of things about myself during Phase 3/4 (I consider them the MOST important of phases to relearning how to eat "normal" food again).

I shake my head at myself when I see some of my "before" pictures and can't even believe I let myself get into that bad of shape up to that point. The point now is that it's changed and so have I. Here's to elongating my lifespan.

Jon, you are totally amazing and I am so happy to hear that things are still going well with you. You were always such an inspiration to all of us and we only wished we could lose as well as you lost. But I agree with you totally...the real work comes in P3-4 when we have to learn what works for us, what is a "normal" serving size for us, and how to live life and stay healthy. Congratulations!!! And thanks for posting. By the way...how is Heather progressing??

Heather's into P3 (almost to P4) in this round. She's settled and stabilized a shade or two above LDW, but she's finally stable now (which is the most important part). Working our way to a short break from dieting for our wedding/honeymoon in mid-July and then on to New Orleans afterwards. She's going to try for the final push to target weight after Labor Day, I believe.

Awesome and congratulations to you both on your upcoming wedding!!! How exciting is that?? And so great that you are both on board together. I remember you talking about being a "real foodie", as most of us are, and the fact that you have both lost so much weight together and now will begin a new, healthier phase of life this year. All the best to you both and you must post pictures on our facebook site. You are still one of us, even though you may be the only guy, we still consider you part of the group.

Well, I've found you can still be a foodie and still keep things in check. I've found I can't even get close to the same portion sizes I used to go for. But that doesn't mean I can't enjoy some of the finer things in food once in a while either. :)

Exactly Jon. So long as you have the discipline to follow through with corrections where needed you will do just fine.

Hi Everyone, I am a YourHCG Alum, in fact my journal is posted still on the website "Jennifer's Journey". My first round I reached my goal weight after 27 days (March 2011) and the beginning of September I found out I was pregnant with my second child. I am now back to lose the baby weight. :( Unfortunately I gained 68 lbs during my pregnancy due to some minor complications and being on bedrest. I will have to lose 38 lbs to get back to my original LDW, which I don't think I will be able to do in this round, I will be happy with 30! :) Well I just thought I would check in, I'm a believer in YourHCG and that is why I am back. Congratulations to all on your success stories, I will be back to read them when I need the extra motivation...between baby feedings, diaper changes and chasing after a three year old. :)

I definitely understand the feeling. I am on D10, but only planning to go 23 days, so almost halfway there. I am not a fan of VLCD or P2, but it does the trick. Keep us posted on your progress when you have time.

Way to go Melanie!!! It is amazing, isn't it??? And sooo neat to be smaller than we have seen in years. I just bought a pair of Chico's jeans that were 50% off, which was awesome to begin with, but it only got better...I fit into a size 0.5, which is a 6!!!!! I have NEVER worn a 6. My goal was 165 and my last LDW was 138. I have no desire to hit 125 since I am 5'8" tall, but I know you can do whatever you set your mind to. We are ALL great!!!

08-01-2012, 09:03 AM
Thank you Nancy ! Yes it is amazing! Wow what a great deal on the jeans, and the sz 6 !!! congrats!!!! I cant wait to wear a sz 6. I am a shorty 5'2 so 125 will be good for me. YES we are all GREAT!!

Bought my second size 6 skirt today! It is amazing, I'm on my second week of p3, been holding at exactly .8 over my ldw for the last five days! Mmmm. I could eat avocados and onion and mushroom omelets filled with a wee bit of cream cheese forever! I'm probably going to remain in p3, or a Paleo style diet for life. My only slight bummer is, I wanted to be 15 pounds lighter, but I do not want to be a smaller size or risk the fat on my face. Tell me it's just a number and to shut up!

It is normal to want more. My advice to people is to live in your new skin for a while. See how it suits you. If, after a few months, you find you are not satisfied then consider doing another round.

nancybaggot
08-03-2012, 04:03 PM
Very sound advice, Linda, as always :) And you are so right about us always wanting more, but I also think we sort of know when we are where we want to be and feel confident we can maintain there.

Congrats on those size 6 skirts!!! I know what you mean about not wanting to be a smaller size. I am already a smaller size than I ever even imagined, but I certainly want to stay here :)

Sounds like a great plan :) I am sure that your maintanence will go smoothly. We know what to do and what works and all we have to do it follow the plan :)

I am doing well. Just got back from a week away from home, so am up a bit and doing a steak day today, but I enjoyed some treats and am now back into the routine of proper eating and getting in enough water. I know the extra pounds will drop off quickly and that is the amazing thing!!!

For me, I'm at the right size, I don't want to be thinner, I just hate that I'm not in the 130's. But I'm not 20 anymore and I truly believe I look better at this weight. I don't want my face to look drawn. I even wore a two piece to the water park this week! 15 years since my belly saw sun, still red too:).

I'm thrilled with my results! Love hcg! Btw, I've dropped to my ldw, for the last 4 days!

I always thought I'd need a tummy tuck, no more! It really does target the bad fat. Like a true miracle.

We lived in Paris, France for almost three years and the creme brulee was amazing. Fortunately, I did not even try it for the first two and a half years, because I thought it was like creme caramel, which is more like flan...not a favorite of mine. But after an office party with creme brulee as the dessert, I "discovered" the absolute wonder of this beautifully executed custard. I hope you do OK after your dessert, but I am sure it was worth it :)

You are my hero! You go girl! You can do it! my goal is just 140-145.0. I am 5'5". I am now a size 8, but I came back because I gained 20 pounds. I would take the 145.0 my last protocol I got down to 147-8-147, but this time I am shooting for my goal and sticking with it. I was a size 4-5. My goal this time is to get to 140-145 and stay there and be a comfortable size 4-5. I know i can do it. I know you can too! Keep going girl. Keep us inspired!

Nancy, my husband is a Chef, I think we had three different Creme brŻlťe on the menu today...I normally don't go near our desserts, unless I'm actually eating in the dinning room. It was worth it! He has them torch the crust, I think that crunch is my favorite part. I'm not even too worried about weighing tomorrow;). My friend today lived in France too, yum, what fun you must have had.

nancybaggot

My friend had hand made fettachini in zambuca Alfredo sauce with large shrimp on top. I'm so hoping I'm able to go back to my dreamfields low carb pasta in p4. I ate it on Atkins on occasion without incident. I'm up .8 today, but TOM's 4 days away. I'll have to do a better timed cheat next day.

Sadie
08-08-2012, 10:19 PM
What day are you on?

bellaturi
08-10-2012, 10:04 PM
I start p4 in 4 days. I meant, I wish I knew if the bites of dessert caused the .8 gain or TOM. I'm back to ldw today, TOM's due Sunday.

nancybaggot
08-11-2012, 01:30 PM
Personally, I would not worry about it too much becasue you will never know the answer. The desserts are not supposed to come until end of P4, but I know that many of us have some bites way before then and don't go out of range. For me, the key is not going overboard and if I "fall off the wagon", just get right back on :)

Sadie
08-12-2012, 11:48 AM
Yeah, so long as you correct your weight you will keep this under control.

I'm done! Started lifetime phase last week, things were great, staying well within my ldw, until today. I'm up 2.6 and I did not do a steak day. I've started going back to the gym, 3 days last week and everyday this week. I took a 75 minute spin class and was way to hungry to do a steak day. I ate very few carbs today. Lots of protein. Has anyone else had a gain from intense workouts?

nancybaggot
09-12-2012, 06:30 PM
Been wondering where you were, so happy to hear from you. Some definitely report gains with exercise and it is sometimes hard to tell how much gain to allow for increasing muscle mass, etc. Definitely another challenge for you...LOL As far as not doing a steak day, I can usually get back down with a few really lean days, high protein, low fat and no carbs, kind of like protein loading days. My favorite go to foods are roasted chicken, fish, tomatos and apples. You might find that the steak day is unnecessary, and as long as you are coming back down and not continuing to go up, you should be fine. If not, then defintely do the steak day.

bellaturi
09-12-2012, 07:31 PM
Thanks Nancy. It's frustrating, but a skinny friend is up 3lbs from restarting her exercise program too...can you tell our kids are in school? Lol, finally time to work out. I'm going to do the steak day if I gain anymore. I'll just skip the workout that day! Who knew spin classes lasted SO long. That's almost 700 calories burned.

How are you doing Nancy? Good to heR from you too.

LadyAjax
09-12-2012, 08:41 PM
I've been wondering if gaining muscle meant gaining weight during maintenance. And if you do, what are you gonna do but accept it? I mean unless you're trying to be Arnold or some other neurotic thin. I think most of us want to be fit as well as weigh less, and I am definitely planning to resume Jazzercise soon (Can I do that on P3 or do I need to wait until P4?). How does that all balance out with the "never more than 2lbs over LDW" thing?

nancybaggot
09-12-2012, 09:02 PM
All great questions and personally, I think each one of has to decided what works for us. My last LDW was 138, I am 5'8" tall, so for me, that is reallllly thin. I actually decided after living in that skin a bit that I feel better between 140-145. That is a 2-7 pound range that I have sort of adopted for myself. When I start creeping from 140-142, I back off a bit for a few days. I have never been big on the exercise component, but have found that I do enjoy aqua fit classes. I definitely need more muscle and we all know that muscle weighs more than fat, so you have to find your own balance. For me, the key is never letting the eating and the resulting weight gain get out of control again.

You can do the jazzercise midway through P3. As long as you know you are eating properly, do not be too concerned about increases possibly relating to exercise. Be sure you keep your water intake up and don't use it as an excuse to overeat.

LadyAjax
09-12-2012, 10:22 PM
Sounds like I will have to experience it. I'm not real big on exercise myself nancy, LOL But I do want to have more energy to be able to play/keep up with my 5 & 3 year olds!

bellaturi
09-13-2012, 06:05 AM
Nancy, I'm back in range, lost a pound! I'm only 1.8 over ldw now. I think I'll have to let the exercise even itself out. I'm going to start measuring again. If my waist stays at 26, I'm going to stop worrying. Now that I'm off of phase 4, I've been following a Paleo style eating plan. It works well and I don't feel deprived. I've been able to have pizza on Friday with the kids and occasionally a little dream fields pasta. Yummy.

Off to get 14 out the door, then wake 8 and 5! My 5 year old is Ana, bit she told her gymnastic's class last night, her name is Savannah! Haha she had that name tag on when I picked her up!

How cute is that with your daughter?? You are definitely one busy lady!! I had three under the age for 4, so I remember the days, but it is also nice when they are grown and you get to play with the grandbabies.

Great on your loss!! And for me, being in "my range" is what life phase is. You find what works for you and stick with it. HCG is the tool to get the weight off and help you learn what works with your body and then the rest is up to you. Sounds like you figured it out alot sooner than some of us. Great job!!!

Here is my story as promised.

Sadie
12-22-2013, 10:41 AM
Lindaís HCG Journal

July 19, 2009 Day 1 Load Day #1
I thought eating everything fatty I could get my hands on would be some how like living out a wonderful fantasy diet. You know ďletís lose weight by eating everything bad for you in sightĒ. WRONG! I donít know if it is psychological but with the first dose this a.m. my appetite left me. I donít want to eat. So there has been little joy in eating all the stuff I usually deny myself. I feel like puking and (I canít believe I am saying this) I absolutely HATE fat and sugar.

July 20, 2009 Day 2 Load Day #2 gained 1.9 lbs.
I donít want to eat anymore. I hate eating and canít stomach anything with fat in it. I am full all of the time and I simply canít wait for tomorrow when I start my 500 calorie diet. At least I wonít have to
Eat ALL THE TIME like the last two days. There really isn't much fun in being full all the time.

Yesterday I thought that it was psychological but I found that HCG really takes your appetite away. I am
going to be very interested to see how the coming days go in terms of how I respond to so little calories. I have never attempted so low a calorie intake and if the HCG doesnít do what it promised in terms of sufficient energy, I can kiss my working out goodbye.

July 21, 2009 Day 3 VLCD Day #1 gained 0.7 lbs.
VLCD refers to a Very Low Calorie Diet in Dr. Simeonís book.

There is a psychological part of wanting to eat but the physical part of doing it isnít enjoyable. Weird! All my life I have liked the ďtasteĒ of food.

I have mild Ė I mean MILD headache. I am allowed to take aspirin but it is so mild a headache I would prefer to not take it. I was still mentally prompted with late night snacking. That will pass once a new pattern is established during the evening hours. Iím encouraged.

July 24, 2009 Day 6 lost 1 lbs.
My weight loss for today was 1 LB and I suspect it will drop from here to the average of other patients. They say that .08 is the average amount lost per day for the average patient. I am still not hungry. This is my first day at a gig so letís see how it goes.

July 25, 2009 Day 7 lost .08 lbs.
I had my first gig last night. The only problem I am having on this protocol is I donít have a ton of energy right now. I am not weak per se, I just donít feel as strong as I normally do.

I didnít eat soon enough in the day. I ate lunch at 5 oíclock.

I didnít work out.

When I was done working I wasnít so much hungry as just simply empty. I am going to have to adjust my food and dosing tomorrow to allow me to last until 3 or 4 am.

August 1, 2009 Day 14 lost .06 lbs.
I was right, dosing spacing has to be better managed. When working until 3am or 4am I have to save a snack until at least 10 oíclock so I have food too.

I thought that I should dose later but it didnít work.

I donít understand. I committed no dietary errors. I re-read the section of Dr. Simeonís protocol and he said that sometime your body just needs to catch up.

After much research I realized that I accidentally mixed Barryís Top Sirloin with my London Broil.

Thatís better. I stuck with chicken yesterday. I didnít make up the deficit and feel I am getting behind in my goal. I think I need to get this perfection idea out of my head. Life isnít perfect it is messy and if I think I am going to be able to loss perfectly every day I have another thing coming.

I canít find the problem. I havenít touched anything. The protocol says to cut back on the tomatoes if you are eating them regularly. I have been. Letís try that.

I canít be a perfectionist about this.

Havenít been since day 1.

October 2, 2009 1 month post HCG

The Cardinal Rule for the rest of my life is Ė ďso long as you weight within EXACTLY 2 pounds (no ounces over) of the amount you weighted on your last Dose you are to eat normallyĒ. This works. Here is my journal.
