When should I add the protein shake?

Officially, not until second week of P3. Protein loading should be fresh animal protein, but some people add them in once they get to P3. Just be careful adding too much too quickly in P3. Where are you in protocol?

Sierra, as Nancy said, the protein shakes are not advised until the second week of Phase 3 but they really a nice quick influx of protein you can take with you so that you have something with you when you are on the go.

How many carbs/fats/proteins are there in the shakes?

Protein 26 gms, fat 0 gms, total carbs 1 gm for the strawberry protein powder. Depending on what fruit you add and in P3 I use a cup of milk, that will add to these numbers.

Thanks. I wanted to make sure it didn't have high carbs or fats (the info on the website says how much protein is in it).
I also am doing a bunch of comparisons with other protein shakes and wanted to be able to compare nutritional info between them.

Hubby just sent me this link for a protein drink:

Jacque, I can't see what sweeteners they use in this protein drink. Do you know what they use?

The only sweetener in it is the small amount of strawberry puree (it must be a small amount since the whole thing only has 5g of carbs in it).

Ingredients: Purified water, proprietary blend of [enzymatically hydrolyzed (predigested) collagenic protein isolate, whey protein isolate (milk), and casein protein isolate (milk)], strawberry puree, malic acid, citric acid, natural flavors. Potassium Sorbate (preservative).

The "natural flavors" is a possible cause for concern. What does that mean exactly? I would be cautious and not use until the last week of P3.
